Tastable was established 45 years ago by Tim Stables.

Originally, Tastables started with one retail shop in St James's Street and over the years expanded to a total of seven shops in and around Brighton & Hove.

Supply to the catering trade gradually expanded and the decision was made to open a wholesale trade operation at the Brighton Municipal Fruit and Vegetable Market in 2002, in order to serve an ever increasing trade customer base, as the large supermarkets placed greater pressure on high street businesses.

The large cold room at Tastables dedicated warehouse and storage facility is maintained at a constant 6° celcius to ensure that your produce reaches you in tiptop condition.

In 2005 with the closure of Brighton Municipal Fruit and Vegetable Market Tastables moved to their new location at a purpose built unit in Hollingbury on the outskirts of Brighton, enabling us to provide a reliable delivery service throughout south east England.

Tastables now have a customer base of over 400 accounts as far a field as Arundel, Epsom, Eastbourne and Tunbridge Wells and a fleet of nine vehicles.

Founder, Tim Stables still takes an active part in the day to day running of the family business with 45 years in the business and contacts all over the world. Tastables can source the most basic to the most exotic produce, to cater for every chefs' needs.

Tim regularly does the daily run to New Covent Garden in London starting at 11:00PM to source the speciality items to cater for every chefs needs. Tastables also receive daily deliveries direct from countries throughout Europe.

Tim's son Mark recently joined the family business from a sales and customer service background. Mark now oversees the running of the warehouse and deliveries.
